Winter is the season when everything suddenly feels different.
A cancer diagnosis can stop us in our tracks. The familiar world continues around us, yet our own world has changed. Fear, disbelief and uncertainty move in, and questions often arrive long before answers do.
It can also be an intensely lonely season. We may be surrounded by extraordinary love and support, yet somewhere within us comes the realisation: this is my body, my diagnosis and my journey to face. Those we love can walk beside us, hold us and encourage us, but they cannot walk it for us.
In WINTER, the deep blues, charcoal and shadowed forms speak of that uncertainty and isolation. The solitary figure emerges quietly from the darkness, while softer blue-greys and areas of light suggest that even here, hope has not disappeared. It may simply be difficult to see.
When the world grows quiet,
and the road is hard to see,

but this journey remains mine.
