Treatment, Courage & Hope
Spring is the season when something begins to shift.
The cancer journey is not suddenly easy. Treatment can demand enormous physical and emotional courage, and uncertainty may still linger. But somewhere amongst the appointments, procedures, waiting and healing, the first small signs of hope begin to appear.
The lighter palette of soft pinks, warm ochres, gentle blues and fresh touches of colour reflects this. There is a sense that life, although changed, is beginning to open very gently.
Spring does not promise that everything will return to exactly what it was before. Instead, it speaks of renewal: discovering strength we did not know we possessed, accepting help, allowing ourselves to hope and beginning to imagine a future beyond treatment.
Like the first fragile shoot pushing through the earth after winter, hope does not need to arrive loudly to be powerful.
At first, only a stirring.
Still very fragile,
a small green shoot,
a little more light.
Hope does not ask
whether winter was hard.
It simply begins to grow.
Life can begin again.
